Our graduates have not only learned the insightful philosophy and vibrant history of yoga, they have also learned how to apply these principles into intelligently themed classes. More than an exercise class, TCY trained teachers understand how to integrate philosophy and lineage in a way that is accessible, meaningful and exciting for thier students.

It is our belief that sustainable teaching careers are born from purpose. Each of our trainees have boiled down their life experiences to forge a deep connection to their mission statement. By understanding their purpose and reinforcing it with yogic teachings, they are able to naturally connect an authentic intention for each class experience.
Clear Vision
Knowledge in sequencing and thematics are just a fraction of an incredible class experience (they are trained in that too!). An often forgotten component is a clear vision of class style and subsequent prospective student base. It is this component that allows studio owners to acutely market and sensibly schedule our graduates' offerings. Throughout our 200 hours, trainees are coached how to identify their styles and accurately verbalize them into class descriptions. Our graduates know what they teach and why they teach it.
Real-Life Teaching Experience
Sure, teaching your training peers is great- But, nothing compares to the knowledge and experience that real-life class instruction provides. From all-levels donation classes to free community beginner clinics, Troy City Yoga graduates have developed a broad, hands-on skillset which allows them to better serve students.
Off-the-Mat Skills
Whether demoing for a class of beginners or instructing an experienced group of yogis, our graduates know how and when to step off their yoga mat. We provide trainees with the skills to teach "off-the-mat" so that they can lead a present, tailored and safe class for their students.
Confident and Professional
Our graduates are ready to audition and provide promotional packets for an employer with ease. Each promotional packet contains their headshot, biography and even rights-free advertising images. Versed in ethics, inclusiveness and boundaries, our teachers make an excellent addition to any team.
