We pride ourselves in creating a retreat experience that can adhere to any budget. From shared rooms to private suites, we have options for every traveler.

  • Six days, five nights accommodations at our ocean side eco-resort. 
  • Three nutritious, locally-sourced daily meals. Dinner included on arrival day and breakfast included on the departure day. Vegetarian options are available. 
  • Twice daily yoga. In the mornings, expect a spicy and strong yoga practice in the Solar Flow style. In the evenings, we wind down with a sunset meditation which includes guided journaling.
  • The 3-Part Kalagati Clinic: Learn the beautiful art of mat-free mixed movement.

Nayarit is an oasis, a land of endless beauty and wonder. A retreat located in the lush jungle, nestled against crystal clear Punta Monterrey Beach. Incredible surf, beautiful beaches, hip little towns and amazing locals make this place abundantly magical.

Meet Abbe

Abbe Ciulla is a full-time yoga teacher, studio owner, and passionate innovator in the world of mindfulness. Drawing from a rich background in philosophy, movement, and the arts, Abbe weaves these disciplines into a dynamic and inspiring teaching style, blending expertise with a playful, heartfelt approach.  

With over a thousand hours of training and a wealth of global experience, Abbe’s credentials include 500 E-RYT in Vinyasa, 300 CYT in Fluidus Yoga, 200 CYT in Mixed Movement Arts, advanced certification in Thai Bodywork, and Animal Flow certification. Her dedication to lifelong learning has taken her to study with renowned teachers like Patrick Beach, Shiva Rea, Noah Maze, Jason Crandell, Kino McGregor, and many more.  

As the owner of Troy City Yoga and Wonderland Yoga, founder of the Solar Flow 200-Hour & 300-Hour Yoga School, Abbe has guided hundreds of students through transformative trainings, immersions, and retreats.

Abbe firmly believes that great teachers don’t create followers—they create communities. Her work is a testament to this ethos, inspiring connection, growth, and leadership within every student she encounters.​

Meet Melissa

Melissa's classes are thoughtfully curated to coax you into a deep sense of embodied safety, reveal your innate wisdom, and remind you of our cosmic interconnectedness.

During practice with Melissa, examine the ways modern medical research is validating the myriad benefits of yoga and rekindle hope in your profound ability to overcome, change & grow. Drawing from polyvagal theory, Melissa brings elements of psychoeducation & neuroscience nuggets into a traditional yoga flow. She weaves modern mental health considerations into a gentle, accessible practice to soothe overwhelm & anxiety.

Melissa's background includes training in Vinyasa Yoga (400 hours), Kundalini Yoga (200 hours), Y-CBT, and trauma sensitive yoga; she formerly co-facilitated a weekly yoga therapy group with a LICSW for almost 3 years. Melissa is also a holy fire III master reiki practitioner.

​Always maintaining a beginner's mind, Melissa continues to learn from her current mentor Abbe Ciulla, and through workshops and self directed learning with Ragunath Cappo, Molly Lannon Kenney, Rev. angel Kyodo williams, Jivana Heyman, Susanna Barkataki and Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen.

The Nature Shalas

These ecological cabins sit right on the beach! Breezy and rustic, these cabins do not have AC, however both have ceiling fans and electrical outlets. Prices are per person.

The Lux Cabins

Lux Cabins have private decks, A/C, mini fridges, complete bathrooms and a nice shower. The water in all rooms is purified. Note: While these cabins are totally awesome and vibey, bathrooms are often open-air and rooftops are grass palapas. If you do not like nature, this may not be the room for you.

With Solar Flow, gain strength, fluidity, endurance and unparalleled mobility.  Solar Flow takes a full body approach to yoga and movement. A flow-based class well worth the sweat, we uncover the deeper aspects of yoga while integrating animal locomotion, fluid transitions, and functional conditioning. Solar Flow Yoga brings cutting-edge insight to the time-honored practice of yoga to help you ignite your highest potential. 

Evenings are for Lunar Flow:
​Our yummy Lunar Yoga Flows are designed to give you that perfect mix of supple movements and rejuvenating stretches. This class is a triple threat- strengthens the body, lengthens the tissue and soothes every inch the soul. Class ends with a guided meditation.

Arriving:

  • Fly in/out of Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico.
  • Check in starts at 2pm. Refreshments & lunch will be served upon arrival. The retreat officially begins with an opening circle and yoga at 6:30pm followed by our welcome family dinner. You can arrive at the retreat centre as early as 2:00 pm to check in and get settled.
  • Airport Transfers: We’ll collect your flight details and help set up shared rides. Taxi will cost between $40-60 per caravan. If you are arranging your own transport to Punta Monterrey our address is: Punta Monterrey Tropical Beach Resort, Carretera Intl, Puerto Vallarta - Tepic Km. 113, Las Lomas, Tepic, Nay., Mexico​
  • Check out is at 12 pm, so we suggest midday or evening flights out.

FAQs

  • What if I need a roomie? Traveling solo but want a shared room? We will do our very best to pair you up with a roommate. In the rare case that we are unable to secure a bunk mate, you will have the option to purchase a private upgrade or switch to your next available room choice.
  • How are meals served? Meals are served family style or buffet style, depending on the dishes.
  • What is an Eco-Resort? As with all of our retreats, this is an Eco-Resort, meaning it is built with sustainable materials, operates with a low or zero carbon footprint and structures are interspersed with nature. There is no pool as we are steps from the beach. Dining is outside. Many rooftops are woven grass and palms. Bathrooms are open-air and nature is abundant. For those who love to connect with the magic of mother earth and have an adventure spirit- this is the retreat for you!
  • What is an unplugged retreat? Yoga retreats are an opportunity to DETOX from the internet, social media and the constant distraction of technology. You will be amazed at how good you feel after unplugging! While we have satellite internet service with wifi, it is unreliable and limited to certain areas of the hotel and at low speed, enough for WhatsApp messages and emails. We do not have cellular signal! Daily trips to town are available to check emails and catch up wifi.
  • Where is Punta Monterrey?  We are nestled in the jungle on a gorgeous secluded beach. Want to get some shopping or nightlife in? We are a 15 minute scenic ride from San Pancho and 25 minute ride from Sayulita. We will help secure cabs to wherever you want to go! *Taxi fees apply.
  • What if I have diet restrictions? We will try our best to accommodate all restrictions, but we must be notified ahead of time. Vegetarian options are available. Most dishes can be prepared daily free. 
  • Is alcohol included? We have an adorable little tiki bar, however drinks are not included. Bringing your own booze? There is a bottle-popping fee.

Terms & Conditions

  • To officially reserve your spot your deposit must be made within 24 hours of submitting reservation request.  Once you are officially added to the retreat your deposit is non-refundable.  All other payments are refundable up to 60 days before the retreat. Trips canceled within 60 days are not eligible for a refund, this is why Travel Insurance is mandatory.
  • All payments must be finalized by March 15th. Otherwise, your reservation and deposit will be forfeited.
  • All participants must sign our Retreat Waiver & Release. This will be emailed upon reservation.
  • Remember travel insurance! This is a requirement for everyone attending due to our strict no-refund policy.  If  something comes up suddenly and you are unable to attend, traveler's insurance will refund your investment or medical costs at a nominal fee (usually runs about $75- $120 to insure, offered by most credit cards).  We use Allianz. We require that your travel insurance covers the activity of this retreat as well as unexpected cancellation by participant, retreat center or facilitator, sickness, losses and all risks associated with travel.  You should bring the policy with you in case of an emergency. 
  • We are not liable for cancellations, delays, changes or issues caused by circumstance outside our power: war, outbreaks (pandemics, epidemics), threat of war, terrorist actions or threats, closure of airports, visa suspensions, civil strife, industrial action, natural disaster, technical problems to transport, staff cancellations, unforeseen changes in personal circumstances or other events beyond our control. This is why travel insurance is mandatory.
